Wendy Daniels
I'm Wendy, a dedicated literacy consultant, professional development specialist, and instructional designer passionate about empowering educators to create thriving learning environments for all students. My journey began with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Regis University, followed by a Master's in Instructional Design from Western Governors University. I've also completed intensive instructional coaching training through Jim Knight's Instructional Coaching Group, further honing my skills in supporting teachers and administrators.
My areas of expertise include coaching for administrators and coaches, facilitating effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), designing proficiency scales, purposeful assessment design, and creating engaging learning experiences. I specialize in helping schools utilize leading and lagging indicators for improvement, conduct instructional rounds and lesson studies, and implement effective literacy strategies in early childhood and elementary classrooms.
Throughout my career, I've had the honor of presenting at prestigious events such as the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) conference in 2024 and the Personalized Learning Summit in San Francisco. I'm also a Solution Tree PLC at Work Associate and a sought-after presenter for Embracing Literacy. My work centers on practical, actionable strategies that empower educators to make a real difference in the lives of their students.
Colleagues describe me as approachable yet goal-oriented, knowledgeable and adaptable, collaborative and insightful. I strive to create a balance between building strong relationships and maintaining a clear focus on achieving objectives. I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their expertise. My approach is grounded in a deep understanding of the diverse roles within education, and I tailor my support to meet the unique needs of each school and district. I also like to inject a bit of fun into the serious work of education, believing that a positive and engaging atmosphere is essential for effective learning and growth.
Outside of my professional life, I cherish my role as a wife of 25 years, a mother of four, and "Grammie" to my amazing granddaughter. I find joy in cooking, decorating, and spending quality time with my family. My passions also include music—playing the piano, singing at church, and even running a "nursery school" for my granddaughter at home, which serves as a mini-preschool lab for trying out new ideas. A Wyoming native, I love spending time outdoors, biking, hiking, and soaking up the natural beauty of my home state.
